Borealis Limestone, also known as Ring Limestone or Shell Limestone, is a rare and highly valued stone primarily composed of spores from Borealis Borealis fossils. It is quarried in northeastern Estonia from a distinctive sedimentary layer that dates back to the early Silurian era, around 440 million years ago, when the region was submerged under a tropical shallow sea.
This limestone is characterized by its stunning color palette, which includes light beige, pink, purple, and sometimes yellow tones. It is distinguished by unique white ring patterns formed by fossilized cones, giving the stone an eye-catching and dynamic appearance.
Borealis Limestone is well-suited for interior applications such as floor and wall tiles. Its 1cm thick tiles, especially when backlit, create a striking effect, enhancing the natural fossil patterns and adding visual depth to any space.
Due to its rarity, distinctive appearance, and excellent workability, Borealis Limestone is considered a highly sought-after material in the global stone industry, making it an ideal choice for premium and sophisticated interior designs.
