FAQ

Will 2cm thick Nero Kempo Basalt countertop crack with heat?

It is unlikely that a 2cm thick Nero Kempo Basalt countertop will crack from heat, as basalt is known for its durability and resistance to high temperatures. How to make Nero Kempo Basalt stairs less slippery?

1. Apply a non-slip coating: Purchase a non-slip coating specifically designed for natural stone surfaces like Nero Kempo Basalt. Apply the coating according to the manufacturers instructions to create a textured surface that will provide better traction on the stairs. 2. Add anti-slip treads: Install anti-slip tread strips or mats on the surface of the stairs. These adhesive strips provide extra grip and traction to help prevent slipping accidents. 3. Clean regularly: Keep the stairs clean and free of dust, dirt, and debris that can make the surface slippery. Regularly sweep or vacuum the stairs, and mop with a mild detergent or stone-safe cleaner to remove any buildup that could contribute to slipperiness. 4. Increase friction with sand or grit: Mix sand or fine grit into a clear sealant or epoxy coating before applying it to the stairs. This will create a rougher surface texture that increases friction and helps prevent slipping. 5. Install handrails: Adding handrails to the sides of the stairs can provide additional support and stability, especially for elderly or disabled individuals who may be more prone to slipping. Position the handrails at a comfortable height and securely fasten them to the walls or posts. 6. Use caution signs: Place caution signs or mats at the top and bottom of the stairs to alert people to the potential slipperiness of the surface. This can help remind individuals to watch their step and tread carefully on the stairs.
