Limestone flooring is relatively low maintenance so it is the ideal choice for not only the home but also for use in commercial and public areas. Maintenance of limestone flooring will start when your floor is laid. Limestone is a porous stone, and although softer than marble, is surprisingly hard wearing.

Limestone is a soft, sedimentary stone made up of calcium. It may contain small cracks known as fissures at or beneath its surface. Over time, normal wear and tear can cause these fissures to open up wider into larger cracks.

Most limestone has a texture that creates a sense of comfort that makes it perfect for areas like kitchen and bathroom floors – and this is especially applicable for floors with radiant floor heating.

For a general clean, you simply need to dilute a small amount of non-acidic soap into a bucket of warm water, before using a sponge mop to wipe down the tiles. We'd definitely recommend using a generous amount of water during the cleaning process, while you should also leave this to settle for around 30 to 45 minutes.
