Bathtub Surround

A natural stone bath tub is actually a more superior choice when compared with an acrylic tub. They can retain heat up to ten times to that of an acrylic bath tub as they have increased heat retention and are generally more durable. The thickness of the walls makes for a robust body and means they are well insulated.

The average price range of a natural stone bathtub is $5,000 – $15,000. Of course, it depends on the type of stone and the shape of the tub.

You needn't worry too much about minor cuts and scratches on the surface of your stone bath, as stone surfaces are renewable.

The best heat-retaining materials for bathtubs are enameled cast iron, stone, stone resin, or wood, and usually, these are only available in freestanding models. Therefore, they should not be insulated due to aesthetics.

A quick wipe over with a clean cloth and clean water will get rid of deposits before they have a chance to dry on to the stonework. If a visible layer has built up on any surface of the bathtub, a gentle cleaning fluid can help - check the label before deciding what to use, and avoid anything too abrasive.
